Alzheimers Scotland Ad Rolls Out

Alzheimers Scotland were one of the beneficiaries from the ITV phone-in scandal last year where ITV were forced to pay charities £5.6m by Ofcom.

Alzheimers were given £20,000 and approached Sean Japp, Head of TV at MediaCom, to see whether we could (in conjunction with STV and The Union) get a commercial on STV to promote 'Help for Carers' and to promote their helpline (0808 868 3000).   STV provided free production and The Union also gave their time free of charge.

MediaCom Edinburgh's Managing Director, David Shearer agreed to waive all commission on this campaign to allow for an extra £3500 of airtime to be bought during daytime on STV. This charity is close to Sean's heart as his grandmother suffered from dementia in her latter years and saw the suffering and heartache it caused his mother and grandmother at first hand so he's pleased to give something back.
