TV Planner Buyer

Position:

A TV Planner/Buyer will be fully responsible for the buying of TV briefs and campaigns on a portfolio of clients. They should also have an understanding of the TV implementational planning process, in a primary capacity. This role requires an understanding of how the TV market operates. It will also require an ability to be highly motivated, numerate and articulate, both when speaking to clients and writing documents.

Experience:

To be considered as a TV Planner/Buyer you need to demonstrate the following:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the following systems:
• DDS, ECHO, Excel and PowerPoint
• A thorough knowledge of TV planning & buying principles
• Be able to plan the most effective campaign for your clients
• An ability to negotiate and buy the best possible airtime for your clients
• Have a basic understanding of other media
• Demonstrate basic client management (sending spot times, buying briefs, presence at status meetings, day to day communication, present buying reviews etc)
• To be an integral part of the team

Key Tasks:

• Support Account Team in the analysis
• Involved in producing implementational planning documents incorporating MediaCom’s core strategic values and TV’s planning principles
• Expand knowledge of planning and buying across a range of media including DRTV, cinema and online
• Challenge strategic briefs where necessary
• Present client results, marketplace information, competitive and media updates
• Build up regular contact with clients, keeping them up-to-date on all media matters
• Gain understanding of the clients overall area of business
• Develop a working relationship with TV stations
• Have a basic understanding of the auditing process
• Ensure all bookings are entered on DDS and keep spot matching up-to-date
• Deal with invoice queries quickly and alert senior team member to problems if necessary
• Weekly time sheets and training plans to be kept up to date
• Help the smooth running of the group
