Account Director (Maternity Cover)
Position:
A vacancy exists for either an established Account Director looking for a change of scene or a strong Account Manager who is ready to progress into the role of Account Director. This is a fixed term role to cover maternity leave until 30th October 2010 and maybe subject to review/extension at that time.
Experience:
The successful candidate will support the Team Leader across a range of clients, including major finance and direct-response brands. As such the ideal candidate will have experience of leading the day-to-day management of a major blue-chip account. Experience of direct-response television and/or the personal finance category would also be advantageous. You will be expected to have in-depth UK market knowledge, especially relating to press, TV and outdoor media channels, combined with an excellent track-record in account handling. You will be responsible for assisting in the development programme of the account managers and planner buyers, and should have experience of managing a team.

The candidate must illustrate their ability to work under pressure and to develop accurate, informed solutions quickly and effectively.
Working with the team leader, senior management, digital and strategic teams within the agency, the candidate will also be required to establish an open working relationship with external agencies and media owners.
The role:
As Account Director, the candidate must be proactive, provide innovative media solutions and represent the client’s objectives to the agency team. Key areas of responsibility will include coordination of training and mentoring of the account managers within the team, supervising media buying, general account administration, liaison with finance department and coordination of presentations. The role may require regular travel to London/the South-East.
The successful applicant will be working in a team of six people, four of whom will be reporting into them directly on a day-to-day basis. They will also be liaising and directing account strategy with digital, television, outdoor and planning specialists within the company. The role will report directly into the Team Leader.
